Side Effects and HIV medications

How do you cope with diarrhea? HIV medications come with side effects, and diarrhea is a common and unpleasant side effect of many HIV meds. One way to manage this is through a BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). What other side effects are you experiencing and how have you been managing them? Do you ever think about stopping your meds because of unpleasant side effects?

I've solved the problem of chronic diarrhea by the use of an acidophalis called ProTec which is digested in the gut rather than burned off in the stomach acids. This replenishes the floral friendly bacteria in the intestine and I use it whenever the meds begin to break that down.

I did experience sideeffects for the first three combination HIV medication. One of the sideeffects I experienced was fat redistribution in breast and back. I was devastated by the fact I would need to have surgury to remove the fatty deposit in the back of my neck which is uncomfortalbe when sleeping. I hope the surgury is done soon. Kaletra combination HIV treatment. It is good they stopped that treatment and switched me to another HIV med treatment. So far I have had no problems with the treatment. I have been on this treatment for two years now.
